DR. STUART PIMM
SavingSpecies has been moving at a considerable pace in the last year. The most important news is that we are now officially a 501c3 registered charity! This means we can now receive donations directly. We couldn’t have done what we have accomplished to date without the Environmental Media Association. They have handled all SavingSpecies donations and paper work over the last few years, as well as being a major donor. They have just been wonderful.
Our updated Donate web page reflects our new status.
We can now accept donations with checks (see Donate page for the address) or via Paypal. Paypal charges, of course. I want to keep our promise that all the money donated goes to land purchases and so I personally commit to paying the Paypal charges imposes on us for receiving donations. We also offer the option of having our donors give something directly to our operating costs, all of which I have covered up to date.
All this has happened because of the energy of the management board. We’ll be including their bios in the Meet Our People page, to be updated shortly.
We’ve had wonderful news about our project in Brazil, which we’ll share with you shortly. And I’m thrilled with our Colombia project. You can stay in touch with us through our (very unspammy) newsletter and, of course, Facebook and Twitter. And if you have a professional interest in saving species, please join our Biodiversity Professionals group on LinkedIn, now more than 3,000 strong! We’re going places and I welcome you aboard for the ride!
